OF FAITH AND STONE TEMPLES

Jade Buddha Temple

I just saw an old man donate 3 pieces of 1000 RMB bills at one of the statue at the Jade Buddha Temple awhile ago. I was amazed.

Later on, I went out of the temple only to see this poor father with his ill baby boy in a wooden pushcart begging for a few coins.

Suddenly, the rich old man passed by to avoid the beggars with disgust as he cover his nose. Tsk. I was speechless.

Indeed, a stone is more worthy of a thousand bill than throwing a penny to a man in need. It’s a sad story but this is just but one of the ironies of faith!
