Just as I was cooking for our dinner, I decided to do my usual routine which is to watch the EVENING NEWS – TV PATROL. As of writing this, Mar Roxas is live on TV announcing his stepping down in his bid for presidency for Noynoy Aquino.
Today marks the start of UNITY! I do hope that the rest of opposition will truly UNITE this time and bring genuine change in the government. As stated, BAYAN MUNA BAGO ANG SARILI. Mar will always be remembered! Thank you Senator Mar Roxas!

It is time to ask what the potential candidate has done. what is his or her record and does he/she live the life that recognizes the needs of the people. how will you know how to fix the traffic situation if you have the police escorting your every move on the street, how will you know how terrible the international airports are if you go thru priveleged lines thru immigration and customs. How will these officials know what the real situation is if they exclude themselves from what the regular guy goes thru in life everyday??? I once heard a kid whose father was a tricycle driver say that their life will be better soon because his uncle who just became councilor will be rich! Even the children have a corrupt concept of politics because this is all they know and grew up with.
Just because Nonoy is the son of Cory does not give him the right to be the annointed one. If he has not proven himself when he was in the senate or congress, what will he do as president.
He is not even sure that he wants the job! He does not have to run!… we need someone hungry for the right reasons… have the courage… have the performance record and not just the critic in a safe habitat of the congress or senate. we need someone who has built roads, schools, hospitals, created jobs and developed his/her province and increased incomes for his constituents, and have benefited from the contractors.
Having Nonoy run for president because of his mother is the wrong reason for having him as President. Having a sister who is a very influential TV personality is definitely the wrong reason for him to be president.
We do not vote for a president because of emotional reasons, we already did that with Cory ( who was actually put there by those that led the coup, and at that time only for transition, how did she stay as president? this I cannot remember) was there an election soon after the coup?
Neither is Roxas qualified to be President if he has stepped down to give support to somone who is not even that passionate to lead the country. Make a change, YES, take the lead, NO…
The president takes the lead so that the people will have the inspitation to follow and do right for the country… this takes strength, determination, passion, clear thinking. This decision to run should not be a consequence of events that have been… oops, beneficial.?.?.
Change is and action, it is not a mere slogan.
